Rule of the Month - Bunker Filled with Water

As we enter the rainy season here in Northern California, this can bring rather unusual situations.

So, what should you do if your ball lands in a bunker filled with water? What are a player's options?

A. Put on your flippers and play the ball as it lies

B. Take free relief while keeping the ball in the bunker

C. Take a one-stroke penalty and drop the ball outside of the bunker.

D. All of the above

Find out the answer in our Rule of the Month Blog linked here.

Getting Clubs Ready for 2025

Some quick notes regarding the first invoice for 2025 which will be sent out the first week of February are below.

  • There will be no new changes to the membership dues in 2025. It will remain the same at $46 per member as it was for 2024.
  • If you're a calendar year club you have the entire month of January to update your roster. All members that are active on your Memberplanet roster as of January 31st will be included in your club invoice in February.
  • If your club doesn't use the Memberplanet automation I have linked two short videos below showing how to add or remove members from your club roster.

    Adding Members via Memberplanet

    Removing Members via Memberplanet

  • Please be sure to visit the NCGA Renewal Hub, linked here, for a checklist to help your club prepare for 2025.

Free NCGA Club Finder Tool!

Get 2025 off to a great start and don't miss out on the chance to engage eager new members who are looking to join your club. The NCGA is implementing a new club finder tool that promises to enhance your club's reach in several impactful ways:

- Unlock a wave of new members eager to join your club and watch your membership flourish.

- Empower prospective members to discover the best club for them.

- Gain insights into what other clubs offer, which can inspire new innovative ideas for your club.

- This new Club Finder Tool will be included on the NCGA.org Join Now page.

Similar to the SCGA's Group Finder, linked here, this will serve to drive new members to clubs best suited for each member.

Thank you to all clubs that have already submitted their club information. If your club would like to be included in the NCGA Club Finder Tool Program, let us know more about your club by submitting this short form linked here.

NCGA Delinquent Club Policies in 2025

We truly appreciate the punctuality of most NCGA clubs in paying their membership dues—thank you! However, we want to ensure everyone is aware of our guidelines for handling overdue balances.

The first week of each month, club invoices will be sent to the designated individuals on your club's invoice recipients list. To avoid any hiccups, please confirm that your list is current via your club's Memberplanet platform. We've linked a helpful video tutorial here to show how to make any changes to this list if necessary.

Invoices are due by the month's end. Should payment not be received by then, the following summarized process will be initiated:

  • 30+ Days Past Due - Reminder will be included in the next invoice.
  • 60+ Days Past Due - Interest of 2% will begin to accrue.
  • 90+ Days Past Due - Notices will be sent to your Club's members notifying them of the possible disruption to their handicap access due to the club's non-payment.
  • 120+ Days Past Due - Unauthorize the club, which will cause members' handicaps to show as NH.
  • 180+ Days Past Due - Possible Termination of Club

These measures will only impact a select few clubs, and we approach each situation with personalized attention. As your dedicated Allied Golf Association, we're committed to collaborating with you to find effective solutions for any outstanding balances.

However, we want to ensure everyone is aware of our guidelines for handling overdue balances. Please be sure that your club’s billing contact is aware of this policy information, too.
