The CWAC has been held since 1967 and was founded by NCGA Hall of Famer Helen Lengfeld.

2020

Mexico City native Sara Camarena made a splash in her Golden State debut. Camarena, a 20-year-old  junior at Cal State University-Fullerton, made a clutch par on the tough par-3 18th hole Friday at Pasatiempo Golf Course to hold off Katherine Zhu.

2021

A few years ago, World Golf Hall of Famer  Amy Alcott stopped by Quail Lodge Golf Club to show her support of players who were competing in the California Women’s Amateur Championship, an event she won in 1973. 

2022

Just moments after it was official, Annika Borrelli shared a big hug with her dad and caddie, David. Next was a long embrace with her mom, Ana. Borrelli has joined a unique group in the annals of women’s amateur golf in the Golden State

2023

UCLA's Kate Villegas remained red-hot, winning the title via a 4 and 3 win over runner-up Lauren Sung at La Cumbre CC.  Just 17 days earlier, Villegas won the SCGA Women's Amateur. 

2024

Natalie Vo came out on fire, making birdie on her first three holes to quickly gain an advantage over Amelia Garibaldi. Later, Vo, a senior at UCLA, hit the shot of her life on the 17th to hole to seal the victory.
