History
This tournament founded in 1961 is named after Helen Lengfeld the founder of PWGA and is generally held in the South Bay/Monterey region. It is a 36 hole, 2 day stroke play low net tournament. Low gross and low net over the field are awarded. All other payouts are net within flights. The field is limited to players playing to a max Handicap Index of 40.4 or lower.

Helen Lengfeld Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service
The Helen Lengfeld Award was initiated by the Pacific Women's Golf Association (PWGA) in 2000 to recognize outstanding service in women’s golf. This prestigious award is presented at the annual Helen Lengfeld Tournament held each year in October. Nominations are due July 1.
